Fagu is a small village on the highway about 20 km from Shimla, just beyond Kufri, at around 2,500 metres. Where Kufri is busy, Fagu is calm: potato fields, apple orchards and forest spill down the slopes, and the views across the valleys to distant snow peaks are wide.
Fagu is best known to Indian families as a quieter base for snow in winter, and to cyclists and walkers as a stop on the old Hindustan–Tibet road. There is a handful of hotels, government rest houses and homestays.
Top things to do at Fagu
Watch sunrise over the valleys

Walk the orchard lanes
Minor roads and paths wind through fields and orchards — ask your hotel for a loop.
Continue towards Theog and Narkanda
Fagu is a natural stop on the way to Narkanda and the road into Kinnaur.
